Grammi Gummi

                Grammi is one of the oldest of the Glens and is a little younger than Zummi, in her late fifties to early sixties, by human standards

but given that she has some memories of the Great Gummies one suspects that maybe, in truth, she and Zummi were around

when the Ancients fled, making her in her five hundreds. She is the mother of the glen, doing the sewing, cooking,

cleaning and taking care of the children. But beware, if need be this kind grandmother can explode.

Grammi is known to have two best friends, Zummi and Nogum. 

                    Nogum is a leprechaun that Grammi met in her preteen years, when Gruffi was but a baby. Nogum and Grammi met again

             in Gummies Just Want to Have Fun, in which Nogum reminds her of the fun days of her youth.  Nogum is very loyal and

                         protective of Grammi but brings out her wild side. The two were dubbed 'The Impossible Pair."  Nogum can only see

Grammi every so often so she found another best friend when she was a child, Zummi.

        Being so close in age, the two balanced one another out. Together, as revealed in Little Bears Lost with Zummi's

 brains and Grammi's fearlessness  they were known as troublemakers. Even as adults, they are still very  close,

 often drawing  comfort from each other. However, they do not often have time to play but still remain close,

play or work.

                Grammi is the maternal figure of Gummi Glen and a grandmother to the bone. She is responsible for all the cooking,

                    sewing, and cleaning of the Glen, although her cooking leaves something  to be desired. She is also the one who makes

            the Gummiberry juice. he was kidnapped by Igthorn for the recipe and since has taught the secret recipe to Sunni.

                        However, Grammi does have a temper and often faces down Gruffi if he is against something she believes should be

                    done. She often keeps their leader in line. Grammi is also the encourager for the children, often tending to their doubts

and fears with her gentle ways.

                    Grammi is often busy with her chores and as such does not seem to have any hobbies beyond taking care of Glen

            and the cubs, which is a full time job in itself.  However, she seems to enjoy cooking and as seen in Gummies Just

      Want to Have Fun and Little Bears Lost, when she was younger, she was a daredevil and risk taker like Cubbi.

However, she has since remarked that since she has grown a lot of that fearlessness has grown away from her.

"It was easier being fearless when I was a cub."

                    Grammi and Gruffi are forever at one another throats. Gruffi considers himself the Glens' leader but at times can be so

            overbearing and demanding that Grammi explodes back at him, to attempt to keep him in line. The two are arguing

            constantly but when the time calls for it, can put aside their differences. In many ways, they are a system of checks

        and balances, each one making sure that the other does not become obsessed with the wrong type of goal or too

caught up in their duties to forget what is important.

            Grammi is a firm believer in Gummi traditions although she is not nearly as strict on them as Gruffi. She also is a

        constant optimist. She does not see the harm in children having fun or being rambunctious at times. In her mind,

        as long as the cubs are not causing themselves or other harm or danger, where is the harm in letting them explore

and play? She also approves of the cubs' friendships with humans, believing friendship to be very important.

                                    Grammi is a very sweet, motherly type character. she is the type that immediately makes you think of your grandmother, by

                               her caring ways and opened arms. She can be a bit gullible as she always wants to give everyone a chance, a fact that was used

                                against her in Never Give a Gummi an Even Break. But she is also not foolish and will often think through something before

 charging in. 

                                Grammi and Gruffi have a very unique relationship, very similar to Gruffi and Ursa's relationship. Often times the two will

                argue and bicker over seemingly insignificant issues because each wants to make a point. Both gummies are very hard

                headed and many times end up at a stalemate because neither will back down from their position. However, when the

         two face a common foe, they can be a  very dominant opponent, due to the fact that if you give them something

to fight for that they believe in, their stubbornness will not allow surrender.
