Sunni Gummi

Captured By Ulisa: Ask Before Taking

Sunni is the middle cub of the Glens, older than Cubbi but younger than Tummi. She appears to be around Buddi's age, eleven

to twelve. Sunni Gummi is infatuated with the human world. She loves to learn about and participate in human activities and dreams

of being a princess.

Sunni has two best friends. The first she ever meets is Princess Calla, the human princess of Dunwyn. They have their tiffs because

their views vary, mostly on the 'perfect' way of royal life. Calla understands that royal life has a price. She tends to be a bit more mature

than Sunni but Sunni thinks ahead more than Calla. The two tend to balance each other out and are extremely loyal  to each other.

A prime example can be found in the episode May the Best Princess Win and Princess Problems.

Sunni's second best friend she met in the episode Return to Ursalia. Her other best friend is Buddi Barbic, the only cub of the

Barbics, a  male about her age, if a little older. He and Sunni get along very well, as they are both cubs of reason in their clans. The

two think very similarly but do vary a little. Sunni seems to like Buddi a great deal and their friendship will continue to grow stronger.

Sunni is the voice of reason in the Glens. She tends to think further ahead than most of the others and although she is not ashamed

to be a Gummi, her loyalty in not always in the Gummi way but with friendship and family. She understands that as times change they

may have to as well. She does has a temper that is sometimes released, but it is not as bad as some of the others, usually released

at Cubbi. She can usually be found dreaming, dressing up, or pretending to be anyone but who she is.

Sunni finds much of her parental guidance in Grammi and not just because Grammi is the only other female. Grammi is the softie

but understands that Sunni is a teenager. She is supportive of Sunni's points and although does not always agree with her, she is always

willing to listen and give ideas and people a chance. Sunni sometimes finds Grammi a bit too optimistic and not realistic enough but she

 finds comfort in her.

Sunni Gummi finds herself in a bit of a dilemma as far as her heritage is concerned. She does not particularly like or understand all

Gummi traditions and as a general rule, hates to perform them, much happier to go off and do what she wishes. She does not always

see the point of them as shown in Snows Your Old Man. She uses logic over traditions. This has caused some argument among the

 Glens.

Sunni Gummi is my favorite of the Glens and my third favorite character over all. She has her faults: she tends to be very

materialistic and can be a tad bossy. However, she is the practical one and at times struck me as a romantic. Many times

she and the  others are put at odds because of her practical view versus what is their tradition. I like how she is not unafraid

to stand up for what she wants and believes. But what makes Sunni stand out to me is her loyalty. Even when she is brushed

off by her friends, as in May the Best Princess Win and Eye of the Beholder, she doesn't abandon those she cares about and

 that's what I think is most important...loyalty.

Sunni and Gruffi have a relationship very similar to Ursa and Buddi's. Gruffi is very stubborn and like Ursa, takes great pride in his

heritage. He and Sunni are constantly at odds as he puts the Gummi Way over logic and all else. Sunni, on the other paw, puts her

loyalty, friendship, and trust over the Gummi Way. Yet, despite these major conflicts of persona, The two obviously have a close bond.

If you watch carefully, Gruffi is known to cave under her begging and pleading.  He's reluctant to admit it but she means a great

deal to him, rather he shows it or not.
